Door supervision runs on Friday and Saturday nights, with teams built per venue, officers who work for more than one company, and incident reports that a licensing authority, the police or a venue’s insurer may read months later. BOOK ON rosters door teams by venue and night, holds each officer’s door supervisor licence with its expiry and SIA check, records incidents, refusals, ejections and complaints as typed events from the app, and invoices the venue from the shifts actually worked.

What door supervision needs
Door supervisor licences
Door supervision is a licensable activity, and a venue’s premises licence often requires a stated number of licensed door supervisors. BOOK ON holds the licence category, number and expiry per officer and lists door supervision licences in the renewal queue with the next action, including the training-required status for renewals.
Teams by venue and night
Each venue is a site under its client. The roster shows the venue’s nights with head door, door and floor positions, and the officer roster shows one supervisor’s week across venues so double-booking is caught.
Incident records that stand up
Refusals, ejections, assaults, drug finds and complaints are raised as typed events from the app with description and photos, against the venue, the officer and the time, and exported as PDF.
Cover at short notice
Near By Officers finds licensed supervisors within a radius of the venue’s postcode, filtered by licence type and vetting status.
Proof of attendance
Book-on and book-off on each night’s shift are the venue’s proof that the agreed number of supervisors were on the door.
Weekend pay and invoicing
Rates are set per shift for Friday, Saturday and bank holiday nights, and the venue’s invoice is fetched from the timesheets.
A Saturday night in BOOK ON
- The venue’s positions for the night are on the roster, assigned to supervisors whose door supervision licence is valid.
- Supervisors book on from the app at the venue; the live monitor shows the team in place.
- A refusal, an ejection or an incident is raised from the app as it happens, with photos if needed.
- The duty manager reviews new event reports on the manager dashboard.
- At close the team books off; actual hours sit beside planned hours.
- The venue receives the incident PDFs it asked for and, at month end, an invoice built from the shifts worked.

Built around UK door supervision compliance
Every door supervisor’s SIA licence is held and tracked, with the renewal queue showing when training is required before renewal. BS 7960, the code of practice for door supervisors, and the conditions commonly attached to a venue’s premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003 may require records of incidents, refusals and the supervisors on duty; BOOK ON’s typed events, book-on records and roster reports provide them. Screening to BS 7858 is tracked per officer, and the Compliance and ACS Evidence reports support an Approved Contractor Scheme assessment for door supervision.

Door supervision questions
Can supervisors who work for several companies use the same app?
Each company runs its own BOOK ON; a supervisor registers with each company that employs them through that company’s invitation link.
Does it record refusals and ejections?
Yes. They are raised as typed events from the app with a description and photos, listed against the venue and the officer, and exported as PDF.
How do I prove the right number of supervisors were on the door?
Book-on and book-off on each shift and the roster reports show who was on the door and when.
Can venues see the incident reports?
Events are emailed or exported as PDF per event, and the Events report covers a venue and period.
What about SIA top-up training for renewals?
The renewal queue has a training-required status and the training provider tabs track officers due, training centres and bookings.
Can I pay different rates for Saturdays?
Yes. Change Rate on the shift sets the rate for that night, and it flows to payroll and the invoice.
