The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is continuing preparations for the implementation of Martyn’s Law, which is expected to come into force in spring 2027.

The legislation is designed to strengthen the protection of publicly accessible premises and events against terrorist attacks. The SIA is developing guidance, notification systems and regulatory processes to support organisations in understanding and meeting their responsibilities.

For security providers and organisations responsible for premises and events, understanding the upcoming requirements will be an important part of future security planning and risk management.
